What to do & what not to do after dipping.

#1 is keep your parts dry. Keep them dry and stored in a dry garage or shop. If your parts get wet on the way home get them inside and turn on a fan. Moving air, warm if possible, is best.

Preparing dipped parts for paint:

  • Sand, scuff, scotch brite, wire wheel each part/area as needed
  • Wipe clean with a wax & grease remover
  • Final wipe
  • Spray with epoxy primer

Parts after being dipped should be considered as bare metal. Bare metal with corrosion inhibitor.

Epoxy primer is designed for bare metal and what seals the metal. Becoming the base for fillers, primers, and paints.
